When to use Agentic AI

Choose Agentic AI when…

  • The path is not fully known up front (research, diagnosis, multi-hop decisions).
  • You need plan → act → check → retry rather than a fixed sequence.
  • You are composing graph-based agentic graphs (tools, memory, branching logic).
  • Failures should be handled intelligently, not only with a simple step retry.

Choose AI Agents when…

  • You want a reusable role (support, sales, ops) with tools and knowledge.
  • The same specialist should appear in Talk with AI and automation steps.

Choose Agentic AI Automation when…

  • Work is event-driven: “when form submitted / email arrives / schedule fires…”
  • Steps are mostly deterministic with occasional AI classify/draft steps.
  • You want run history, approvals, and ops-friendly monitoring (visual flows; workflow operational thinking).

Quick decision

  1. Always-on ops pipeline → Automation
  2. Reusable specialist → AI Agent
  3. Complex adaptive multi-step reasoning → Agentic AI
  4. Need a face-to-face conversation → Talk with AI (pick General AI or an agent as brain)
